Some Biographical Notes Concerning |
||
|
IN RESPONSE to a request for information about the author, my late grandfather, I offer these biographical notes and a few particulars concerning the discovery of his journals. In 1929, upon his return from an archaeological expedition to the sacred Maya temple of Yaxchilan, deep in the Central American jungle, my grandfather recorded a preternatural vision which "told him" how the world had been created as an experiment in altered consciousness by children of higher beings. Although the vision occurred over six or seven days, my grandfather spent the next forty years of his life transcribing his original notes into two large journals which have now been published as The Children of the Gods. He collected a multitude of ancient pictographs from archaeological diggings, old museums, and libraries which, mysteriously, further informed his writings. Remarkably, some of these drawings, thousands of years old, even depict what seem to be touch-tone phones, computer consoles, and space rockets. There are representations of men in space-suits and pictures resembling microscopic DNA strands and gene splicing which not even my grandfather could have fully appreciated when he found them more than a half-century ago. |
